Google Map: Street View

Google has announced a new feature of their Google Map, so called "Street View". Having a try with it, my only comment is "It is DAMN CRAZY"!

Example

Drag and drop the little figure to any blue outlined streets (or directly clicking on the location), then a view will be popped up as if you were standing right there. It is not just a simple shot taken at the scene, but like other parts of the Google Map, you may zoom in/out and rotate 360 degrees to see in any direction. Amazing enough, the objects in the panorama have special transformation rules so that the panorama looks like 3D space.

It's not hard to understand why the service is only available for a few major US cities: too much effort is required for this to be done. But I am really looking forward to seeing HK on the list of supported cities. :D
